Bell's Brewery sustainability manager, Walker Modic, and Kate Binder, sustainability specialist, will discuss their 2014 brewery installation of an anaerobic digester to treat Clean Water Act conventional pollutants generated as a brewing byproduct into renewable energy. In 2016 Bell’s main production facility recycled over a million pounds of material with a 92% diversion rate. This presentation will review technology, practices that helped achieve these numbers, and future plans for the brewery. Following the presentation and tour of the facility, we will travel seven miles to their Eccentric Café for light fare and drinks.
